Disaster Preparedness for Pets

Do you know what to do? Our pets enrich our lives in more ways than we can count. In turn, they depend on us for their safety and well-being.

After September 11th, many pets were stranded in homes in lower Manhattan for several hours, even days, before someone could reach them with food, water, and TLC. Could this happen to your pets?

Learn how you can be prepared to protect your pets when a crisis or disaster occurs. Our guest speaker Sandra Carlson is the Vancouver Island Coordinator for the Canadian Disaster Animal Response Team (CDART). Sandra is also the Pet Care Team Leader for the Victoria-Esquimalt ESS (Emergency Social Services) Team.
