Emergency Preparedness - Oak Bay Community School Challenge

Long-Term Goal:
Every household within Oak Bay has a Basic Emergency Preparedness Kit enabling them to be self-sufficient for a minimum of 72 hours.

Target Population:
Elementary Children - Kindergarten to Grade 5.

Primary Goals:
To educate school-age children from Kindergarten to Grade 5 who attend both private and public schools within the Oak Bay catchment area about Emergency Preparedness.

To provide school-age children from Kindergarten to Grade 5 who attend both private and public schools within the Oak Bay catchment area the basics to build an individual Grab & Go Bag.

Secondary Goal:
To provide school-age children with information and tools to take home to their parents / caregivers on the importance of Emergency Preparedness and how to build a Basic Family Preparedness Kit and create an Emergency Plan.
