Emergency preparedness in Oak Bay is about neighbours helping neighbours.  The first step however is being personally prepared to enable you and your family to be self-sufficient for a minimym of 7 days after a major emergency or disaster.  Emergency Preparedness Begins With You! is a two-hour workshop that provides detailed information and practical application to individual and family emergency preparedness.

Oak Bay Emergency Program and Oak Bay Block Watch would like to invite the residents and business community of Oak Bay to a barbeque. Both groups will have information about their programs available. The OBEP will have its Mobile Emergency Response Vehicle (MERV) & Group Lodging Trailer on display. Block Watch/Police will have its vehicle on display as well. Come meet our volunteers, find out about how to build a safer, better prepared community AND enjoy lunch with us! Please drop by and support your community!

Emergency Preparedness for Seniors (event completed)
The Canadian Red Cross is presenting their Emergency Preparedness for Seinors workshop.  Volunteers from the Oak Bay Emergency Program will support and provide follow-up outreach for our community's seniors as needed.  The focus during this session is on developing personal networks, being personally prepared, assessing any functional disabilities and identifying solutions.
